Kempower Megawatt Charging System

The Kempower Megawatt Charging system is based on Kempower’s market-leading distributed charging system and offers maximum flexibility during the upcoming MCS transition phase.

Get ready for a new Era. Maximum flexibility. Optimized ROI.

Based on Kempower’s proven state-of-the-art technology, the first version of Kempower Megawatt Charging System comes with a peak power of 1.2 MW and the Kempower Mega Satellite. This ensures maximum compatibility in the form of either a high-power combined charging system (CCS) plug or a megawatt charging system (MCS) plug.  The Kempower Megawatt Charging System can be equipped with MCS and CCS outputs, among which any unused power can be distributed, to ensure optimal ROI during the MCS ramp up period.

FAQ

It is based on Kempower’s distributed charging system and is designed to give maximum flexibility during the MCS transition phase. The first version has a peak power of 1.2 MW and uses the Kempower Mega Satellite, with either a high-power CCS plug or an MCS plug.

The system can be equipped with both MCS and CCS outputs, and any unused power is distributed between them. That keeps capacity working during the MCS ramp-up period rather than sitting idle on one connector type.

Maximum total power is 1.2 MW, connecting to 1–12 charging points simultaneously, with a charging voltage range of 150–1,000 VDC. High redundancy secures greater than 99% uptime.

MCS charging up to 1.2 MW at 1,500 A; CCS charging up to 560 kW at 700 A; dual CCS2 charging up to 2 × 560 kW at 700 A; and MCS & CCS Flex charging up to 1.2 MW at 1,500 A on MCS with 560 kW at 700 A on CCS. The voltage range is 150–1,000 VDC, future-proofed up to 1,250 VDC.

Yes. An existing 600 kW system running the latest technology is upgradable by adding another 600 kW Power Unit. You can make a site “MCS ready” and upgrade later as vehicle adoption grows, rather than committing capital up front.

ChargEye adds efficiency and maximum uptime for the charging equipment. Kempower Energy Management Solutions make the megawatt system grid-friendly, and a Battery Energy Storage System supports upgrading the grid to achieve more power and more plugs. You can also configure the system with high-power CCS, Satellites or Control Units, adding up to 6 CCS + MCS outputs sharing power between them.
